OUR ETHOS

When it was founded Westville House School was an extension of the Founder’s family and the same ethos exists today. It is a happy family school with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

In the school you will find a stimulating and caring educational environment.  We have an emphasis on high standards of behaviour and good manners.  There is a broad ranging curriculum which is entirely appropriate to the ages and abilities of the children and offers them many wonderful opportunities. Every child is treated as an individual to allow them to achieve their full potential.  There is something for everyone with many opportunities to shine or find success and self confidence, often through some of the marvellous cultural activities available - in Art, Music and Drama. 

Sports and Games are important at Westville.  Every child gains from the high quality, child-friendly games coaching which has a strong emphasis on learning skills whilst having fun and keeping fit, together with healthy competition in matches against other schools.

As in any family, we seek to promote the children's confidence and natural development and prepare them for life in the world beyond school.  Educating boys and girls together is hugely advantageous as they work and socialise together purposefully in an entirely natural environment.

It is our aim to provide the children in our school family with a first class start in life, giving them an excellent grounding for their next schools - and, indeed, their whole futures.
