THE KEY STAGE ONE CURRICULUM

The curriculum for 5 – 7 year old children is fun, challenging and creative. For most of the time the children are taught by their class teachers, particularly for English [literacy] and Maths [numeracy] with specialist teachers working with them for French, Music, Science, ICT and Games. The children take an active – and always enjoyable – part in assemblies and shows.

Full use is made of the school’s terrific multi-purpose hall, our up-to-date ICT suite, the fabulous outdoor environment at the school and, of course, our fully equipped minibus which allows the children to take advantage of great opportunities in the surrounding area.

There is a strong emphasis on building up the children’s confidence and celebrating their achievements as well as encouraging those all-important good manners and a spirit of caring for each other.

Before-School care is available from 8.00 am and After-School care is available until 6.00 pm, although children may be picked up at any time. At this session the children can relax, play outside and have tea, as well as getting any homework tasks done, all supervised by a qualified member of staff.
