Dear Parents
Important Information About Westville House School
I am delighted to tell you about the excellent SAT results achieved by Form Four last year. The children all worked extremely hard and gained tremendous results, as follows:-

You will see from this table that almost every child achieved level 4 - the level expected for 11 year olds - in English, Maths and Science. Moreover, a very high percentage of the children gained a level 5 - which puts them at a level equivalent to 14 year olds - in all three subjects. Congratulations to them all! This wonderful news points not only to a great deal of super work by the children but also to excellent teaching from our highly committed and professional staff throughout the children’s careers at WHS.
These excellent results also reflect clearly the ethos and aims of Westville House School and it is worth refreshing everyone’s memory about these - and reminding you all why you chose Westville House for your children in the first place. The ethos of the school is described on our website, as follows:-
“When it was founded Westville House School was an extension of the Founder’s family and the same ethos exists today. It is a happy family school with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In the school you will find a stimulating and caring educational environment. We have an emphasis on high standards of behaviour and good manners. There is a broad ranging curriculum which is entirely appropriate to the ages and abilities of the children and offers them many wonderful opportunities. Every child is treated as an individual to allow them to achieve their full potential. There is something for everyone with many opportunities to shine or find success and self confidence, often through some of the marvellous cultural activities available - in Art, Music and Drama. Sports and Games are important at Westville. Every child gains from the high quality, child-friendly games coaching which has a strong emphasis on learning skills whilst having fun and keeping fit, together with healthy competition in matches against other schools. As in any family, we seek to promote the children's confidence and natural development and prepare them for life in the world beyond school. Educating boys and girls together is hugely advantageous as they work and socialise together purposefully in an entirely natural environment. It is our aim to provide the children in our school family with a first class start in life, giving them an excellent grounding for their next schools - and, indeed, their whole futures.”
This, coupled with our Mission Statement sums up the aims of the school very clearly. We aim to provide the best possible education in every field for your children, giving them a first class start in life. As well as the SAT results, our senior school entry exam results last year show clearly that we are achieving that aim. Every child in last year’s Form Four gained a place at their first choice senior school and nine Scholarships were awarded. Here is proof, if any were needed, that you can be extremely confident that your children are receiving a top-class education here. You should be proud of them and all that they are doing at school, just as we are.
Thank you for your continued enthusiastic support of WHS, which goes such a long way to helping us to provide the very best for your children.
Yours sincerely
Charles Holloway
Headmaster
