SCIENCE

Science is taught from the age of six in our well-equipped and well-resourced laboratory. We aim to encourage the children to develop enquiring minds through interesting, stimulating practical work which will develop their curiosity, investigative skills and understanding of the world around them.

By the time they leave at eleven for Senior School they will be able to design their own experiments confidently, perform practical investigations, collate results and draw valid conclusions from them.  ICT skills are used for graph making and charts, using programmes such as Excel. 

Through our investigative approach, the children acquire a sound knowledge of scientific facts, and an understanding of how science can explain the fascinating world around them. Science lessons are eagerly anticipated as enthusiasm for the subject is fostered from the earliest age. Above all, our pupils find that science is exciting and fun.
