A MOTHER’S CHOICE
When Carol Briggs set out to look for a prep school for her son, she was spoilt for choice, writes Hilary Wilce.
“We’ve got three good schools here on our doorstep in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. We looked at each one,” says Briggs. “Westville House had a good reputation and when we went round it, it just seemed to have such a lovely, family atmosphere. I really responded to that. After all, if you are going to lose your child at three-and-a-half to someone else, you want them to be someone nice.
“My husband was more interested in the academic side, but that was very sound.
“And the children seemed so busy. There was a fantastic computer set-up, and, even though they were only little, they were doing French and science. We certainly made the right decision. I have a five-year-old and a seven-year-old there now and they love it.” read more |
